AMP Is All About Speed

00:00 Daniel: I’m Daniel Bisett the owner of Austintatious Design and the creator of AMP Like A Pro. I wanted to take a quick second to introduce you to AMP the Accelerated Mobile Pages project that Google started back in 2015 because now it is really gaining momentum. You see no longer is simply having a mobile responsive website sufficient. If the web page loads slowly, if it takes more than seven or eight seconds to load, it will get hammered by the competition if their pages are AMPed. Just a little FYI from Google themselves “The average time it takes to fully load a mobile page is 22 seconds according to a new analysis yet 53% of mobile site visitors leave a page that takes longer than 3 seconds to load that’s a big problem.” that comes from: think with Google- Find Out How You Stack Up to New Industry Benchmarks from Mobile Page Speed. You see, AMP is not concerned with mobile responsiveness. AMP pages are ipso facto mobile responsive. AMP is all about speed. We can take a site or a page that loads between 12 and 18, 23, 30 seconds and we can AMP it up and drop that page load speed down to 3 to 5 seconds. Now that’s fast, and that’s what we can do with AMP. This is just a little tidbit from Daniel Bisett at Austintatious Design and AMP Like A Pro. I hope you enjoyed it. Take care.
